Where young minds take root and grow

Welcome to Kinderwood Academy

Programs

At Kinderwood Academy, our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to nurture the whole child socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively while fostering a lifelong love of learning. Grounded in Ontario’s How Does Learning Happen? pedagogy, our approach blends play-based exploration with early academic foundations in a warm, secure, and engaging environment.

A Play-Based, Child-Centered Approach

Children learn best when they are curious, engaged, and actively involved. Our educators observe children’s interests and developmental stages to create meaningful learning experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, and problem-solving. Through purposeful play, children build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

Aligned with Ontario’s Early Years Framework

Our curriculum is guided by the four foundations of How Does Learning Happen?

Belonging

Children feel valued, connected, and supported within our inclusive
community.

and healthy routines.

Engagement

on experiences.

and imaginative play.

Age-Appropriate Programs

Our programs are tailored to support each stage of early development:

Infant Program (6–18 months):

A nurturing, routine-based environment focused
on sensory exploration, motor development, early communication, and secure
attachments.

Toddler Program (18 months–2.5 years):

Hands-on play that introduces early
language, numeracy, social interaction, and growing independence.

Preschool Program (2.5–6 years):

A balanced blend of play-based learning and
structured activities that build literacy, numeracy, creativity, problem-solving, and
kindergarten readiness.
